Chopped and Guillotine League Strategy: Survive Each Week
Lowest scorer eliminated every week, rosters dumped to waivers: why upside beats depth and saved FAAB wins.

A chopped league, also called a guillotine league, turns a normal fantasy football season into a survival contest. Every team drafts a full roster, but each week the lowest-scoring team is eliminated and its entire roster is dumped back onto the waiver wire. The last team standing wins. With twelve teams, the season lasts eleven weeks of eliminations.
Strategy flips completely from a normal league. Depth is worthless early, because surviving the week is all that matters, so you want boom-or-bust starters who can post a huge score rather than steady floor players. As teams are eliminated, the wire floods with stars, so saving your FAAB budget early and spending big once elite players become available is a winning approach.
Game theory matters in the final weeks: track the projected scores of your rivals and remember you only need to beat one team each week. Bench players who are guaranteed not to score are traps; you need every starter to have upside. Positional scarcity disappears because eliminated rosters supply replacements.
